Insert Catchy Name Here

Hey guys - with Legion (sort of) around the corner, we made this thread to gauge interest in classes people are going to want to play as their mains at the start of legion. What that means is that the character you vote for here will be who you start the first raid tier with unless you manage to get multiple characters up at once at the same gear level.

Please select ONE class that you are going to want to start the expansion with as your main so we can better determine how the first raid tier of the next expansion will be. After you've voted, please also state in your own post below why you made the choice you made and what your preferred spec is going to be at the start as well.

I am sticking with my Warrior. It's always good to have someone available to fill multiple roles so by playing my Warrior I will be able to tank (likely primary spec again) or DPS depending on the group's needs.

Considering what my 100 boost should be once I pre-order Legion but I will update this when I decide. I might do another druid or I may do a Paladin or something.

Will most likely stick to my hunter with the new changes coming out for them it will be interesting to play. It is always good to have a solid hunter player in raid because of their versatility but if we get more hunters for Legion I may consider switching to a class that can fill multiple roles, most likely my warrior, druid or shaman.

Essentially. Every Shaman we've ever had besides Fiery has "gone to Italy."

I'm leaning toward multiple characters at max level all having raid level gear.

I'm going to stick with the shaman(leaning towards enhancement to level to 110, and dps with to start, and picking up the resto artifact later on), my hunter, and possibly another melee class. I haven't made up my mind yet.

Resto Druid, because you guys would die w/o me (see wat I did thar!). I will level as Boomkin so I can alt run as a Boomy if numbers allow.


Edit: Possibly a Resto Shaman. I need something to do while waiting for Legion. That and I've wanted to wear that ICC Tier gear so badly that I would change mains just to xmog it!

2nd Edit: Ok maybe my pally as he was my original main. That way i could tank/heal for us.

3rd Edit: Blood DK looks awesome. I'm going that route.

... This just needs to get here so I stop changing my mind!

At the moment I'm going to have to say I'm going to be maining my druid; don't know what how shamans are going to turn out so at the moment I'm putting my shaman on the bench for now.

Like always, I'll probably have all of my dudes to max level as well. I will start out with the warlock and then the paladin, but we'll see what else happens in time.

After editing my previous response like 4 times, I have come to my conclusion....

I've tested just about every class that I enjoy playing (Resto Shaman, Resto Druid, Holy Pally, Blood DK, AssRogues). I've looked at gameplay, artifact stats, artifact flavor, artifact quest, class hall, and other spec gameplay.

Remember, this is all my opinion. Also, there are some minor spoilers, so if you're a purist, then just skip to the last lines and read my choice!

Ranks out of 5

Resto Druid
Gameplay: 4.5 - Same as it ever was(not necessarily a bad thing)
Artifact stats: 5 - All but one perk buffs healing tremendously
Artifact flavor: 4.5 - Feels awesome lorewise, but most of the models are just ok.
Artifact quest: 4.5 - Very druid in feel. Have to use your hots. Just not as good as Guardian.
Class Hall: 5 - Fantastic. Druids even get their own world teleport zone!
Other spec: 5 - Bear tanking looks awesome and their artifact quest is great!
Total: 28.5 /30

Resto Shaman
Gameplay: 4.5 - not a lot of change. Feels a bit slow
Artifact stats: 5 - Stats are great. Very customizable talents too
Artifact flavor: 1 - They changed the name of it 3 times. It's the scepter of Azshara... a mage...
Artifact quest: 1 - After Thrall gets beat up, you go to the worst cata dungeon to get a mage's scepter...
Class Hall: 4 - New leader of the Earthen Ring... Not bad
Other spec: 5 - Enhancement gameplay is widely praised. With the new animations it looks great!
Total: 20.5 /30

Holy Paladin
Gameplay: 4 Stiff learning curve, but not too bad. Like resto druid without hots
Artifact stats: 4.5 Some of the stats feel like a ret choice. Doing dmg doesn't equal heals, so its a waste.
Artifact flavor: 5 - Fits their new class feel perfectly.
Artifact quest: 3 - It's an undertuned ret instance. You hardly use healing spells.
Class Hall: 5 - Gorgeous Light Hopes Chapel. (It spoils the ret quest, but you are "replacing" someone..)
Other spec: 4 - Prot looks good, but ret is in disarray. Compare it to a windwalker and you'll see.
Total: 25.5 /30

Blood DK
Gameplay: 5 - Almost too easy...
Artifact stats: 4.5 - good buffs and talent choices
Artifact flavor: 4.5 - Fits Blood DK well
Artifact quest: 4 - seemed a bit lacking. Don't like having a weapon with your buddy's soul trapped in it.
Class Hall: 4 - Bet they thought long and hard about this place...
Other spec: 4 - Unholy looks neat, but as all DK dps specs always do, I'm sure it'll start strong,but weaken during the expansion.
Total: 24 /30

Ass-Rogue
Gameplay: 4 - It's like assassination ate subtlety.
Artifact stats: 4.5 Some good. Some head-scratchers
Artifact flavor: 4 Flavor and lore is good, but Blizzard doesn't know what a dagger is. Half the models they come up with don't even look sharp. I'd rather wield a good pair of Fiskars
Artifact quest: 5 - You actually assassinate people for information!
Class Hall: 5- Fits perfectly!
Other spec: 2 - Outlaw is a half a class and said to feel unfinished. Subtlety is basically a shadowpriest that stabs you...
Total: 24.5 /30

So, I'll be going Resto Druid. I'm already fairly good with the playstyle and the artifact buffs it completely. I will have to get used to the new 100 talents though.

Probably gonna play a rogue or a DH

DH if i can tank, rogue if i go melee dps, monk or sham if i heal, and sham or hunter if i go ranged this is all depending on what we need and what we can make room for
